We’ve all been there, right? Landing in a new city, suitcase in hand, and just needing a spot to be productive. Business travel can be a grind, jumping from meetings to emails to trying to find a decent dinner. That’s why we started exploring the different Marriott hotels for business trips. We wanted hotels where the stay wasn’t just bearable, but actually enjoyable, maybe even a little bit fun amidst all the work.
We need space to open our laptops without doing acrobatics, a quiet corner for that important video call, and maybe a great spot for a quick coffee before hitting the ground running. And after a long day of being brilliant, we dream of a comfy bed, a good shower, and maybe a tasty bite or a relaxing drink without having to trek across town. Marriott has so many options. It’s like a giant buffet of hotels! So, we did a little digging and stayed at a few spots. We’ve narrowed it down to six places that we think are fantastic for the business traveler hustle. Come see which ones made our list!
Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott
6
Imagine you just landed in Hong Kong, and you may feel a bit weird from the flight. Staying at the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott will give you instant chill. We loved how close it is to the airport. The free shuttle whisked us away in no time, no stressing about complicated transfers. This spot is prime real estate if you’re in town for business, especially with AsiaWorld-Expo right next door and the MTR shuttle making city connections easy-peasy. If you need proper meeting spaces, they’ve got plenty of those too, and all the professional stuff is covered.

Walking into our room, we were greeted by space and comfort ,way bigger than your average city hotel room. The beds were super comfy, perfect for crashing after a long day. And for getting work done? The desk setup was decent, and the Wi-Fi was solid. When it was time to switch off, we hit the indoor pool, a nice escape to unwind.
They also have a good gym if you need to burn off some steam. Now, for the good stuff, the dining! SkyCity Bistro offers a big international buffet and is your go-to for pretty much anything. For something a bit more local and refined, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant served up some delicious Cantonese dishes.

New York Marriott Downtown

Best location. Stepping into the New York Marriott Downtown, we felt that burst of NYC energy, but with a welcoming twist. The location is totally clutch, right in the Financial District, meaning we’re smack-dab in the middle of the action, super close to Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, and Battery Park for those stunning Statue of Liberty views. Plus, hopping on the subway to explore uptown is a super easy from here.
The rooms have been given a fresh makeover, and now they look more modern and comfy. We loved having a dedicated workspace, and reliable Wi-Fi was a must, which they totally delivered on. Some rooms even offer amazing views of the harbor or the city skyline, so we can work with a view!

When it comes to grabbing a bite, they’ve got you covered. We checked out Bill’s Bar & Burger, which is apparently famous for its burgers. It’s a solid spot for a casual meal or a happy hour drink after a busy day. There’s also a Starbucks right there for that essential morning (or afternoon) coffee fix. If you’re in town for business, they’ve got the meeting spaces you’d expect. For more options, check out the best Marriott hotels in New York City.

Talk about being in the center of it all! We absolutely loved the location of the Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre. It’s right by People’s Square, which means we were just a short walk away from the famous Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street for some serious retail therapy and great eats. Also, having the major Metro hub at People’s Square so close by made zipping around the city incredibly easy.
When the need to relax hit, there were good options right there. We checked out Shanghai City Bistro for a bit. They have a buffet and a la carte. For a more refined experience, Man Bao Lou offered authentic Chinese cuisine. And The Lounge is a great spot to grab a coffee or an evening drink, set in this impressive atrium. It’s a solid choice that puts you right in the middle of Shanghai’s excitement while offering a comfortable place to recharge.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach

Best for minimalist business travelers. JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach has this modern, artistic feel that’s really unique. They’ve expertly balanced historic heritage with modern style, which we thought was pretty neat. We loved the vibe here. Besides, its spot in the city center is unbeatable, right in the thick of the CBD and super close to major attractions like the National Gallery. You’re perfectly placed to dive into everything Singapore has to offer. It’s where you can easily work, dine, relax, and soak in the Singapore vibe.
Our room felt like a little pocket of calm, with elegant interiors and intuitive amenities that made things easy. I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows and the cute table decor. Also, the work desk is minimalist, which means fewer distractions! What’s more, each room features a mini-bar, and you can brew your own tea in the room.
Beyond the room, this place is packed with cool spots. We loved chilling at the outdoor pools, especially the infinity pool with its awesome city views. If you’re looking for a moment of peace, the JW Garden or the Hushed Habitat offers a nice escape. Dining here is a treat too, with sophisticated fare at their stylish restaurants and some creative cocktails at the bars. They even have this incredible Grand Ballroom with a “Forest of Lights” ceiling, perfect for a swanky event.

You’re missing out on a lot in life if you’ve never tried staying at the W Barcelona! Its unique sail shape is iconic and instantly recognizable on the city skyline. We loved being right on the Barceloneta boardwalk with direct access to the beach. Stepping inside, you get that cool, stylish W vibe, blending modern design with a fantastic waterfront location. It’s the star among all Marriott business hotels.
When it came to experiencing the hotel, the WET Deck pool area was a major highlight. Relaxing by the pool with those sea views was perfection. But the real star for the evening was the bar up on the 26th floor, NOXE. It boasts incredible panoramic views of Barcelona twinkling below while we sipped cocktails. The hotel also has a great spa if you need to unwind and several dining options, including beachside bites at SALT. It’s a hotel that’s as much about the experience and the views as it is about a comfortable stay.
“Our room was super chic, with a chaise lounge and floor-to-ceiling windows that gave us breathtaking panoramic views. “

The design felt avant-garde but still really comfortable. The room was so perfect that it felt more like a pure vacation than a business trip. For your next business trips, you can also check out the best business hotels in Barcelona.
