The Lowry Hotel Manchester
6
We begin with the latest addition to the Millennium Hotels European portfolio is The Lowry Hotel Manchester. Sitting on the River Irwell and boasting spectacular views of Trinity Bridge, this upmarket, glass-fronted hotel is Manchester’s first five-star hotel. It shows in every facet, from the amenities to the hospitality and service.
We loved the contemporary rooms, which featured floor-to-ceiling windows with city or river views, as well as marble bathrooms, iPod docking stations, and flat-screen TVs. If you’re looking for a larger space, the suites also have free Wi-Fi, dining/lounge areas, and kitchens, with in-room dining available in all rooms.
The hotel’s restaurant sits by the riverside and offers all meals, including breakfasts and innovative British dishes. What’s more, they also do champagne breakfasts and live music on Sunday mornings, as well as afternoon tea. Furthermore, there’s also an upmarket bar with river views and a wonderful terrace. A ballroom, a fitness center, and a spa round up the amenities here.

Millennium Hotel Glasgow, Scotland
5
Sitting right on George Square in the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant city center is the Millennium Hotel Glasgow, which is as iconic as the city itself. We were impressed right off the bat with the stunning Georgian façade that’s lined with glass conservatories, blending elements that are both historic and modern in style.
With just 65 rooms and suites to choose from, staying here felt oddly intimate, even though the hotel had a spacious feel. What’s more, all of them were elegant and roomy and featured a bevy of mod-cons, including tea and coffee-making facilities, flat-screen cable TVs, and contemporary bathrooms. If you’re looking for something special, you could even upgrade the rooms, some of which add access to a lounge that offers complimentary breakfasts and drinks. Did we mention that all rooms enjoyed 24/7 room service? Yep.
Downstairs, there was a chic Scottish brasserie, a bar, and a lounge where we’d enjoy drinks before stepping out and enjoying Glasgow’s nightlife. Other amenities included meeting rooms, a business center, and a fitness center (fee).

Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd
4
Tucked between Cardiff’s city center, the scenic coastline, and the bustling bay, Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd blends modern convenience with timeless charm and modern convenience. We had a wide choice of spacious and well-appointed rooms and suites that were designed keeping comfort in mind. What’s more, we could even choose from twin, queen, or king-sized beds, depending on what we preferred. However, all of them came with contemporary amenities such as coffee and tea-making facilities, satellite TVs, and luxe bathrooms. Lake-view rooms and suites provide elevated staying experiences, with perks including continental breakfasts and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The standout feature on the property is the Lakeview Lounge & Bar, which was the perfect place to be seated comfortably and enjoy everything from light bites to hearty meals. In fact, we even enjoyed beautifully presented Afternoon Tea here, which came with delicious pastries, warm scones, and freshly made sandwiches, as well as premium teas. Both Wi-Fi and breakfast are available for an additional charge, and there’s even a lounge and bar that serve light meals.

Grand Hotel Palace, Rome, Italy
3
Millennium Hotels’ only outpost in Italy is the Grand Hotel Palace Rome, which sits on the swanky Via Veneto. So, it’s a stone’s throw from major landmarks and sights such as the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. This storied luxury hotel still boasts much of its original grandeur and is an Art Deco gem.
Since it’s popular with tour groups, the reception is always busy, but the warm, multilingual staff made everything very easy and available 24/7. The real showstopper here is the grand hall, which was home to the historic, frescoed Cadorin Restaurant and Lounge. However, the Asian-inspired oasis that is the Fusion Spa, with a saltwater massage pool, sauna, and a detailed, specialized menu, was the standout. A small fitness center and a shaded terrace surrounded by greenery and trees rounded up the amenities here.
Choose from nearly 90 rooms and suites, all of which are impeccably clean and spacious, and feature a modern aesthetic. Think contrasting green/pink walls, pink-striped wallpaper, white leather furnishings with chrome details, and a slew of mod-cons. If you’re looking for something special, the upper-floor suites are not only spacious, but some even have balconies, and they all come with coffee machines.

M Social Hotel Paris Opera, France
2
The M Social Hotel Paris Opera is brilliantly placed for shoppers and sightseers. This classic hotel received a modern and swish revamp while also checking all boxes for an excellent location. It even has a storied history: it opened as the Hotel Commodore in 1927, and we could still see the remnants of its lovely art deco bones. Think a glass-domed lobby, an endless marble staircase, and vintage lifts with brass accents and wood panels. Besides free Wi-Fi, a bar/lounge, and the lovely Papillons & Co conservatory, which turns into a terrace on sun-kissed days, round up the features and amenities here.
The revamp also ended up giving the 100+ rooms and suites a contemporary look with bold color choices: think squishy velvet furnishings in aquamarine, orange, and green, and millennial mauve walls. Comfy beds, huge windows (soundproofed for a good night’s sleep and fully openable for ambiance by day), a coffee-and-tea station, and a late noon checkout had us completely impressed.

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa, London, UK
1
There are many reasons why The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa, London, UK, is at the top of this list, besides also being one of the top Millennium hotels for luxury travel. Firstly, this five-star, bold, luxury hotel is an all-suite stay and boasts stunning views over the Chelsea Harbor Marina and the River Thames. Second, the staff is very warm, welcoming, and friendly, and we didn’t have to lift a finger while we were here.
However, what impressed us to no end were the amenities, with the main draw being The Spa at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel. They not only had a fantastic spa menu, but they also featured spa days — think girls’ groups, afternoon tea spa breaks, and the like. Furthermore, the spa also had a fitness center, a sauna, a steam room, and a blissful, 17-meter pool. Our favorite space, though, was, hands-down, the terrace of the hotel. With heatersm parasols, alfresco seating, and sweeping views of the marina and the Thames, it was easily one of London’s most luxurious lounging spots. Rounding things up were the two restaurants on the property.
We had the choice of close to 150 rooms and penthouse suites across 7 floors. What’s more, even the standard rooms had smart TVs, soft beds, and sleek palettes, with the larger suites even featuring marina views from tall windows.
